How We Met
On June 8, 2019, I went on a hike in Cooper Landing, Alaska with my sister and cousin. On the trail, we ran into another group and started making small talk. After chatting for a while at the top of the mountain, we exchanged numbers and made plans to do more hikes. A couple of weeks went by and he asked me out on our first date. We started adventuring around Alaska together and after many hikes, he asked me to be his date for his Air Force Military Ball.
How They Asked
One month ago, we were in the middle of an overnight backpack trip when I tripped and broke my leg. Due to our location, the only way out was by helicopter. The Air Force Rescue Squadron came and picked us up. Little did I know, this injury would change how my now fiance would pop the question.
With a broken leg and crutches for the next two months, the hike he planned to propose on was no longer an option. Instead, he decided to stick with the recent helicopter theme and planned a trip to land on the Knik Glacier. His sister, who is a photographer, captured the moment perfectly. I was surprised and thrilled! The easiest answer of my life.
