How We Met
Anthony and I met at a local bar. It was a girl’s night out and my best friend’s husband was tagging along and didn’t want to be the only guy so he invited Anthony to join us. Once we were all together at the bar, it clicked in my best friend’s and her husband’s head that we would be perfect together and it was their mission to set us up! The rest is history.
How They Asked
Historic Richmondtown has been my home for the past 22 plus years. It holds so much sentimental value to me, so the fact that Anthony proposed there was pure bliss. Anthony had told me that he rented an outdoor igloo at the local ice cream parlor located in Historic Richmondtown to celebrate our two and half year anniversary. I was so shocked that he was able to get a reservation because I thought they were sold out. He told me that there had been a cancellation and he got lucky at the last minute. I was thrilled! We arrive and are walking towards the ice cream shop when Anthony tells me that we should check out and take a picture in front of the big pine tree that they decorate with lights every year.
I thought this to be odd because I am the one always asking to take the pictures but figured he was just trying to be nice since I love taking pictures and we were celebrating our anniversary and all! As we approach the pine tree he points out an ornament on the tree and tells me to take a look. As I take a closer look at the ornament I realize it says “Marry Me”!! I turn around confused as to what is happening and Anthony is on one knee asking me to marry him!! A photographer was hiding behind the tree and captured our beautiful proposal on film.2020 has been a trying year, to say the least. To think we are ending the year on such a high note is incredible! Our proposal was such a surreal, breathtaking moment that I will cherish for the rest of my life.
