How We Met

Alek and I met on Bumble. Alek grew up in Dayton, Ohio and had many friends that attended the University of Dayton (UD). I grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, but attended UD. After getting to know one another, we realized that we knew a lot of the same people from UD. It’s quite possible we ran into each other at a party and never knew!

Alek had never had pho before so I decided he HAD to come down to Cincy and try it for the first time on our first date. We went to Cilantro fordinner (which is now closed – so sad!) and grabbed beers and hung out at my apartment after watching our favorite show, “You’re the Worst.” Little does Alek know, but after he left that night, I texted one of my girlfriends and said, “I think I might marry this guy!” The rest is history!

How They Asked

It was the morning before my birthday and Alek suggested we go out and grab our favorite bagels for breakfast. When we came home to our condo, I walked in the door and our dining room table had been moved. On the table were a small heart decoration, flowers, a gold box, and a small framed sign of something I say to Alek all the time, “I love you and I like you.”

Little did I know, Chelsea, who designed my ring and is a friend of mine, had “broken into” our home and set all of these goodies up for a proposal!

Inside the gold box were donuts from a friend of her’s bakery. The donuts spelled out “marry me.”

My immediate reaction was, “Yes, I’ll marry you. Duh!” Super on brand for Alek and I. :)
