How We Met
Taylor and I met in junior high. He was the new kid from Catholic grade school with spiky hair and frosted tips. I thought he was cute, but he never believes that! We didn’t become close until 10th grade though. A mutual friend of ours, Conor started to bring Taylor around more and more.
Taylor turned into my best guy friend and watched me date the wrong guy multiple times. I was broken up with twice because “you don’t look at me the way you look at Taylor” or “why do you always have to hang out with Taylor.” I thought they were crazy! Taylor was just a friend and only a friend. This prom picture attached…we weren’t even dates!
Taylor turned into one of my older brother’s best friends and Taylor traveled with my family every year. We still just remained friends. After a little too many drinks for my 21st birthday, I kissed Taylor.
He took MONTHS to tell me that he liked me and after many freakouts by me, we decided to give this dating thing a shot. 7 years later, we have two wonderful pups, a home that we made our own, and a story that we think is the best.
How They Asked
One of our favorite things to do on the weekends is make breakfast, coffee, and watch CBS Sunday Morning (what are we ancient?!). Sunday morning in quarantine we decide why not have some mimosas. As I’m reaching up on the shelf to grab glasses, I hear Taylor say “I have a question for you”. I turned around and there he was down on one knee. I immediately said, “Are you f**king serious?!” If you know me, I have quite the potty mouth. He laughed, I cried, he cried, and then I finally said: “yes, of course, I will marry you!” My favorite part about our proposal is that we were both decked out in sweats. We both volunteer for an animal rescue and wear their clothes nonstop, so it was only natural that we were both in full-on Biggies Bullies sweat outfits. This was definitely not the proposal he had in mind, but it turned out amazing in every way.
