How We Met
We met 6 years ago at the ages of 16 and 15 at church. I was shy meanwhile Edward was more than outgoing by asking me that very same day we met to go down to a car show the city was hosting. We spoke for hours, asking each other everything and anything. Laughing and giggling. From there on out we just kept falling more in love! We connected over our love of adventures and the outdoors. It’s been an adventure ever since.
How They Asked
We had been talking about marriage for a while now, planning and envisioning our dream wedding. Although we had no set plans. November 16 on the day of my 22nd birthday Edward told me he was taking me out for the day. He told me the exact outfit to wear and when to be ready. Everything except our schedule for the day.
We started driving away from the city and towards the countryside, at this point in confused seeing as he told me to wear a big poofy dress and I thought we were grabbing a fancy brunch! I soon start noticing the road signs that keep saying “airport” and just as I was about to ask we turn into a parking lot and he turns to me and says..” I’m taking you on a helicopter ride “ I look over to my left and there it is. This tiny little helicopter being polished for us. I was in disbelief and so excited.
I think I was just so excited we were going on a helicopter tour I didn’t even expect a proposal! We got on and flew through the mountains, finding the snow and landing at the highest peak. It was magical! We had a 360 view of the rivers, the mountains, the valleys, and the snow-covered peaks. It was indescribable. We explored we started taking photos and we walked over to a rock peaking out of the snow.
He grabbed my hands and looked me in the eyes and my heart skipped. I knew! He got down on one knee and held up a small box with the most beautiful ring! It was sparkling with the sunlight and snow reflecting and my heart was jumping out of my chest. All the sweet words still ringing in my ears I couldn’t help but cry and scream yes! It was perfect. I couldn’t even imagine a better way to say yes to forever with him. At the top of a mountain.
