How We Met

We met at a local bar the week before I packed my bags and moved to Tallahassee to begin medical school. There is a such thing as love at first sight, and I have first-hand experience. We chatted for a bit before exchanging numbers, but I didn’t really think that time would allow for us to reconnect. That weekend we went on our first date. We laughed, shared stories and realized how great we were together. I moved to Tallahassee and we took turns visiting each other as she was finishing school back in Orlando. Days turned into weeks. We began dating and falling more in love. Two years later I started clinicals in Orlando and we decided to move in with each other. Almost three years after we started dating I asked her to marry me.

how they asked

On Christmas, after all the gifts had been unwrapped, I handed her a small envelope that told her we were going on a “small getaway” in January. She spent the next few days asking me a million questions, but I was not going to give her any hints. Little did she know that I had been planing this for months and hired a photographer to capture the moment. The weekend came and we were on our road trip to Savannah, Georgia. I booked a reservation at a bed and breakfast that overlooked Forsyth Park. We spent that weekend site seeing, wine tasting and exploring Savannah. Sunday morning I woke her up early and told her that we had a brunch reservation that was scheduled for that morning. We dressed up and headed out. On our walk I told her that I wanted to take one last photo at the Forsyth Park fountain. The photographer was hidden there ready for me to pop the question. After walking around the fountain I got on one knee and asked the love of my life for her hand in marriage.
