How We Met
Jetsen and I met five years ago – we worked together at a solar company and he was the manager of the sales team I was on. We had always gotten along really well and were good friends, he actually helped me through a really tough time and it always really meant a lot.
As it turns out we both had huge crushes on eachother, I like to tease him and say it was so scandalous because “he was my boss,” and it always makes him blush:). We ended up both taking other jobs but we stayed in touch. So back in January of 2019, we started talking again, and by February we were officially dating! We’ve been together ever since and he is the love of my life.
How They Asked
From the very beginning, I knew I loved Jetsen. We always had such a good time together no matter what we were doing. We have the same taste in music and movies, and he seriously always has me laughing. So over a year ago (April 12, 2019) Jetsen and I went out for a simple date night with some of our friends. So after shopping and walking around City Creek Center – a huge mall up in Salt Lake, we met up with them for dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. After dinner, we went back to their house and it wasn’t until much later (12:30 PM) that we realized we had both lost our wallets when walking around the mall! Luckily a janitor let us into the mall, and we were the only ones there! Everything was closed but it was all lit up, and beautiful.
As we kept looking we walked across the Skywalk which is this big beautiful all-glass bridgelike structure that connects both sides of the center. As we got to the middle Jetsen stopped, turned to me, and said “hey do you want to dance.” I obviously thought that was so romantic and said “yes!” SO he pulled out his phone – put on my favorite song Michael Buble’s Everything – and we danced like we were the only two people in the world.
It was like dancing on a glowing floating glass ball. That moment was so sweet and so special, it was one of the first times that I really could picture myself marrying him. So flash forward to the present day (June 20, 2020) Jetsen had asked me earlier that week if I wanted to go out for a date night to City Creek that weekend; which I didn’t even think twice about because he’d just gotten this big promotion at work and we definitely were due for a night out. I HAD NO IDEA WHAT WAS COMING.
So as we were walking around shopping, and we walked across the Skywalk and Michael Buble’s Everything was playing I literally turned to Jet and said, “What are the chances?” It wasn’t until he literally had to say, “Babe this is for you!” That I noticed all the rose petals and flowers and realized what was happening! So he leaned in and said a few really special and sweet things to me, got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. And I said YES!
