How We Met
Brantley and I met serving in the middle school ministry at our church. Before the meeting, we both had crushes on one another. We talked to each other after service every Sunday for 3 months until Brantley *finally* asked me on a date! We went walking at Arbor Hills Nature Preserve and got lunch and drinks afterward. After that first date, it didn’t take long before we couldn’t get enough of each other. Soon after, Brantley asked me to be his girlfriend.
We spent a lot of time together talking about our faith, going on mini trips and romantic and fun dates, continuing to serve together in middle school ministry and our life group, and much more. After 7 months of dating, we knew we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. Our goal from the beginning of our relationship was to keep Christ at the center. We sharpen each other and seek to love as Christ loves. This is the reason we KNEW we wanted to get married.
How They Asked
On December 2, 2018, Brantley surprised me at the nature preserve where we had our first date. He walked me down a rose-lined trail on a beautiful day and shared some of the sweetest, most loving words. He asked me to be his wife and I said: “of course!” After the proposal, I was surprised again by several of our closest friends and family at a cookout that Brantley had organized at my parent’s house.
Every day we fall more and more in love with each other. We know that God planned this marriage when he formed us. It had become more and more evident that we are perfect for each other. We can’t wait to stand in front of all our family and friends and vow to love each other for the rest of our lives! June 22, 2019, cannot come fast enough!
