how they asked
It was one of those days that was pretty normal. First he had spoken to me about doing a photo shoot a few months ago because he wanted nice pictures of us since he recently moved into his new apartment. Ok so I thought fine that’s not unusual. Since he loves photography and he loves his canon camera why not? We’ve done a couple of shoots before so it’s not such a big deal. I guess he must of asked my parents probably a couple of weeks after he bought the ring bc my mother was acting a bit funny. But I didn’t think much of it.
He had made arrangements with the photographer to meet July 25th at 5pm since the lighting was beautiful around that time. The funny part was that we were at my aunts anniversary party that Saturday early afternoon. Which meant that most of my family members were there. They had been asking him when he would pop the big question since we have been dating for so long. He kept saying “I’m still saving for the ring.” Well the time had finally come for us to go to our photo shoot and we went home and changed and headed out. As soon as we arrived to the park I was amazed at how beautiful the park looked in the summer. The photographer greeted us and started taking our pictures after she introduced herself.
She asked us a couple of question like, “how long have you both been dating?” And how long have you known each other?” Normal questions to break the ice. Well when we arrived to the small bridge the photographer asked us to turn so she could take a picture of our profiles and she had said “hey why don’t you look at that tree over there?” So I did and then after that she said “great, that’s a beautiful shot right there. How about you turn around and face each other?” As soon as I did he was pulling the ring box out and he was on one knee.
I couldn’t believe it, I wasn’t expecting any of it. I started to giggle out of nervousness and then I started to cry after he said that he knew he had taken a long time to ask me since we’ve been dating for 5 and a half years but that he knew I was the one and he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. Immediately I said yes!
I have never been surprised in that way ever and well as soon as our photo shoot was over we went straight to my aunts anniversary party to let everyone know the good news!!! It felt so nice to spend time with family and share our wonderful news.
