Denia and Noe
How We Met
Noe and I met my senior year of high school, his junior year. We attended the same high school and had mutual friends. We first met at a Taco Bell while my friends and I were having dinner and he showed up with some of his friends. Through mutual friends we began to talk and he eventually asked me out on January 15, 2010 and I said no. He was quite surprised at my answer so on January 18th, 2010 he asked me out again and I said yes. Noe understands how important my family is and how traditional my father was and so he told me he wanted to talk to my dad to make sure we had his blessing to date. My dad was hesitant and first because I am his oldest daughter. Through the years my dad expressed that he knew Noe was going to be my lifelong partner. I agreed.
how they asked
There were many times I thought Noe was going to propose (like my birthday trip to Disneyland that included all of family) but it never happened. Our closest family and friends often joked that if he did not propose soon I was going to leave. On February 17th, 2018 (after 8 years of dating) we headed out to a winery in Napa valley, Castello Di Amorosa, and I never imagined this was going to become the best day of my life. It is a beautiful castle with amazing views, I was in heaven We did a 9:30 a.m guided tour and tasting and soon after we began exploring the castle. It had beautiful views in the lower levels but Noe wanted to go up to the South tower. We attempted to go up but the entrance was closed. We went back down to take pictures at the main entrance but he was not satisfied. He told me that he wanted to go up there and he wanted to make sure one that we couldn’t. We went back up and noticed that the gate was not fully locked.
he pushed the gate and it opened! He looked at me and I looked at him and we both hopped the chain closing off the entrance and began to run up the stairs to the highest part of the castle. We saw cameras up the stairs and knew were going to get caught, it did not stop. We got to the top and the views were incredible! I was in such awe. As I was looking out to the views of the vineyards, I suddenly turned around because he said, “I have to do this now.” With the adrenaline rush of being in a forbidden place, I didn’t think much of it so I turned around to face him and he was on one knee, he reached into his pocket and pulled out the most beautiful ring I had ever seen!
He began telling me how much he loved me and how he couldn’t wait any longer to ask me to be his wife. I was speechless-literally! I could not talk and looking back now Noe told me he thought I was going to faint. He had asked both of my parents for my hand in marriage and that was the most important thing to me. These last 8 years have been worth the wait and I am so excited to finally become Mrs. Amador!!!
