How We Met
George and I first met on a night out in London. I turned up late to the venue and got sent away being told the doors had shut. For some reason, I was determined to get in. I pleaded with the doorman who eventually told us to hurry up and get in! That’s where I met George he tapped me on the shoulder and asked for my name. Before we knew it sparks were flying. He asked me what I would like to drink… I responded by saying “deserano and cranberry” he came back with a Desperado!! I had to pretend I liked it. One of my friends to a photo of us from behind! It’s not very clear but I have attached it.
How They Asked
George and I grew a love for sushi and all things Japanese during our 5-year relationship. Every special occasion was celebrated over a fancy sushi dinner up London! Wherever we went we ate sushi. I had always dreamed of a trip to Japan especially Tokyo and when George finally agreed to take me in April 2020 I was ecstatic. However, as he COVID-19 situation worsened our plans were canceled and we were absolutely gutted. Little did I know that George had planned a proposal at Mount Fuji and a trip to see the cherry blossoms!
Sakura season was something I had always dreamed of being able to see. The ring sat in his draw and I was absolutely clueless! June 27th, 2020 came… which was a few days before our 5 year anniversary. He invited me over for dinner. When I got there he had turned his kitchen into a cherry blossom kingdom. His mum and sister were dressed as Geishas and his dad as a Sumo wrestler. They put on a performance and served me sushi. Before George asked me to play a game describing what we were was most excited for in Japan. We took turns and when he reached number 10 he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife! It was incredible and I couldn’t stop crying. I SAID YES!
