How We Met
Taylor and I are high school sweethearts but we actually met in Middle school. I still remember we had history class together and he did a presentation on the Berlin Wall and actually had a piece of the wall to show. I was so jealous st the time. We remained friend but it wasn’t until senior year that we started dating. At this point we had anatomy class together. He sat behind me in class and asked for my number. We started texting each other. I liked him because he was so different than the other boys at school. He was very respectful and caring and always made me feel special. We continued dating throughout college and of course, the rest is history.
how they asked
Earlier this year we decided to take a road trip to Arizona and Utah. On our second day of our trip I was going to be celebrating my 10,000 day old milestone. You see, we like to celebrate all the small and big things and I had calculated my 10,000 day which happened to fall on Valentine’s Day. That night, we had dinner reservation at El Tovar and old historic restaurant at the Grand Canyon. Before going inside the restaurant, he pulled me aside. Mind you it was February, it was both freezing and pitch black outside and he asked me if I was sure I wanted to do this with him. I knew right away what he was referring to and started crying. I remember he said “ I guess I should get down on one knee” at this point I was full body ugly crying. My first response was to say “Baby, no” but not because I was saying no to him, I just couldn’t believe that this was actually happening. He had pulled a small black box out with a beautiful solitaire diamond ring glistening inside. I pulled him up and kissed him and said yes. He slipped the ring on my finger. I had never seen anything more beautiful. I could not stop crying and he was crying too. The moment was perfect and I will always cherish how thoughtful he was in planning our engagement. We are very excited to plan our big day and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with such a thoughtful and caring person.
