How We Met
Zach and I met through mutual friends on New Year’s Eve 2017 at a football game in Colorado. While we didn’t attempt a romantic connection at the time, we stayed in contact after I moved to Hawaii in January 2018. I moved home to Wyoming in July 2018 two days before my best friend’s wedding- the same couple that we met through. Zach and I flirted throughout the night and after the reception, he came to hang out at my shared cabin where I was 5th wheeling. We sat up and talked all night long and knew that night that this was something incredibly special.
How They Asked
We lived in different states from July to December of our relationship. Our first official date was in September when Zach came to visit me in Colorado. He told me he was game for anything, so I surprised him and took him skydiving. Together we made a bucket list of skydiving in every state. We also decided we would try to go to an away game for either the Chiefs or Broncos each season. We went to Tennessee in November for the Chiefs-Titans game and figured we would skydive while we were there. Turns out, Zach coordinated with the staff at Skydive Tennessee and they were able to capture this incredible day. Zach landed first, had the ring delivered to him as I was landing and after my tandem partner sent me his way, got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. My hands were shaking so much I couldn’t get my gloves off! It was absolutely perfect.
