how they asked
We had been dating for almost 4 years. We met by the very off chance, and instantly knew we were going to be together forever. We met through motorcycle riding, which is important to both of us. So a few weeks prior to the engagement, he asked me if I wanted to go out to dinner. Of course I did. He said it would be a surprise (which he does often, so I didn’t even see it coming). He paid for my hair to get done, and my nails as well. I bought a new dress. I was told this special place was very high-end and he wanted me to look my best. The day comes, and I find out the restaurant is Peter Luger! It was our first time there, and the food was to die for. After the dinner, he wanted to go get dessert. We get in the car, and I realize about an hour later we’ve been in a car for a long time, much longer than before. Then I look up and see the Coney Island Aquarium. I had never been to Coney Island and I freaked out. I was so excited! We take go get some dessert and take a walk on the boardwalk. We start walking towards the beach and we’re moving back and forth in between areas. Right before the fireworks started, he looked me straight in my eyes, and explained he loved me and I was the right girl for him. That he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me (in front of so many people!). He got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him. I told him he has to put the ring on my ringer, which he replied “you have to say yes first”.I was so flustered, I forgot to say yes. I, of course, said yes while crying and dying of embarrassment. Right after that, the fireworks started. It was nothing short of magical. I noticed people taking pictures. They ended up being his coworkers who were in on it, and that’s why we were moving back and forth, he was looking for them! It has been 4 months since then, and we couldn’t be happier. We are soul mates, in the truest form.
