Deajsha and George
How We Met
It was three years ago when my heart found a new tune. It was three years ago, when I met the man who was greater than my dreams. I never knew much about love before I met George; in fact, I never knew it at all. – Only that love can truly exist when the person accepts it into every part of their being. It was the kind of love that can only be described as a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake, and then it subsides. It subsides only because of the comfort that you come to know, every single day, with them by your side. He overwhelmed me with attention, compassion and a sense of friendship that one can only crave from the person they want to be with for the rest of their life. All through high school, he was a year ahead of me and we had never even spoke a word to each other. After I had graduated, something brought us together that only fate could describe.
how they asked
After a burning, red, and sensational sunset on Panama Beach, he had led me up a sandy pathway to sit on a hill as it continued to warm the sky and our souls. He had finally leaned over after much anticipation and asked me if I would stand up. I didn’t know what he was doing, but then again, maybe I did; because at that point, my heart was already shaking. With the most drop-dead look in his eyes and his hands squeezing mine, he uttered the words that every girl craves from birth; “Will you make me the happiest man alive, and be my bride, Deajsha?” Tears draped out of my eyes, I lost my ability to breathe and all sanity left my mind.
I was marrying the man of my dreams! I never knew what people had been saying when they said they found their soulmate. I finally found mine three years ago. I had fallen in love with not only my best friend, but my life partner that I knew God had brought me to be with.
