How We Met
Before I met David, I had put myself on a dating hiatus. I had absolutely no plans to date for a long time after a series of horrible dates. About six months into my hiatus, around October 2012, I had a class with Patrick (David’s brother) in college. Patrick and I became friends and he and his girlfriend at the time told me I needed to meet David. They said we’d make a great couple since we had a lot in common. However, I was skeptical and NOT interested….until I saw a picture of David. When I saw what he looked like, my hiatus was over. We immediately clicked and we’ve been in love ever since.
how they asked
Fast forward four and a half years later, in May and June 2017, I noticed David was being a weirdo. He was being sneaky and just all around, strange. He’s usually really silly and funny, so when he was suddenly being serious and calm, I figured he was getting ready to propose to me. On June 17, David took me to the Houston Museum of Natural Science, which is my favorite indoor spot in the city. We went with some friends and even they were acting strangely as well. Then, after the museum, David suggested we go for a walk in Hermann Park, which is my favorite outdoor spot and has been ever since I was a kid. As a girl, I dreamed of getting engaged there! Once we got to the park, he said we should walk up the hill and view the whole park from the top. I knew EXACTLY what was going on by this point. When we reached the top, David got down on one knee and asked me to marry to him. I was not surprised at all, but I still said yes! Our big day is coming up so soon and we are more in love than we’ve ever been.
