How We Met
Jeff and I are both ER doctors. We met in a bar in Philadelphia more than two years ago, we went on a few dates but I was distracted by work and other things in my life, and thought he was “too nice”! I stopped returning his texts. Luckily for me, he was persistent (he says he knew on the first night we met that I was “the one”). After a few months, I decided to give him another try – and I’m so glad that I did!! We quickly became inseparable, studying together, going to the gym together, and exploring the Philly food scene together. I had never been with someone who so clearly cared for me – he never once made me doubt his feelings or sincerity. He thinks I’m amazing and reminds me that every day – and will tell anyone else who will listen!! Jeff is crazy smart, dedicated, hard-working, and has the sweetest heart and the most awesome sense of humor – he makes me laugh every day, and encourages me to always be the best that I can be. He is such a truly wonderful person – I am so lucky!
How They Asked
Jeff and I went to Yosemite National Park to go hiking – in the middle of a huge snowstorm!! We decided to hike to Vernal Falls despite tons of snow. The trails were empty! We hiked up to the falls and there was no one around at all. It felt like we were in the most romantic winter wonderland – a blanket of white snow and complete silence. The snow was dumping and the falls roared in the background. Jeff set up his phone on a tripod to “just take some pictures since its so pretty here.”
He set up the camera, and came over to me, and kept kissing me and telling me how much he loves me. Then, he looked at me and said, “will you marry me?” as he got down on one knee and pulled out the ring box!!” I couldn’t help but cry- and of course, say “YES!!”!
It was the most beautiful and special moment of my life – and being alone to share together was so perfect. After he proposed, and we shared some time enjoying the moment, we continued on to hike several more hours through the snowy and empty trails – just enjoying the beauty and magic of the mountains and this exciting feeling!
