How We Met
Thomas and I met through mutual friends. We were all hanging out on the beach one Saturday afternoon when Thomas and I first started chatting. After about an hour of lecturing Thomas about
staying in college, he finally asked me for my number for further advice. For the next couple of weeks we continuously flirted through Facebook, text messages, and phone calls. We quickly learned we had much in common. From then, every free moment was spent together.
how they asked
For our three year anniversary, we decided to go back to where it all started. We headed to the beach with a blanket, a bottle of wine, and a packed dinner. By this point, we already knew one day we would get married. In fact, we talked about it all the time. After spending the day at the beach, Thomas asked if I wanted to go on a walk while the sun set. While we walked hand in hand, Thomas kept talking about the day we met and how he immediately loved me, why I stood out from other women, and how lucky he was. We talked about what it will be like one day when we’re married and have our own family.
Then, Thomas suddenly stopped. As he turned to me, my stomach dropped. Although, we talked about it happening, I was still in shock. As he got down on one knee, I began to smile. A few sweet, shaky statements were made, but all I could comprehend was “Danielle, I knew I loved you from the day I met you, will you marry me?” Tears immediately began running down my face, as I pulled him up from his knees, wrapped my arms around him, and answered with “of course I will.” It was a perfect day, ended with a perfect proposal.
Now, we are five months away from tying the knot and I am filled with joy and excitement. Planning this wedding has been one of the best experiences of my life. Even with all the joy of planning, I wish I could just fast forward and marry the man of my dreams already.
