How We Met
Josh and I met at a church meeting in July of 2016. We had both been going to the same church our entire lives and thought it was bizarre that we had never met. We began chatting after Josh overheard me talking about an upcoming vacation to Spain that I had planned. He had been there before and wanted to meet up one day to tell me all of the cool spots to visit while I was there. We decided to meet up one day for coffee. We had our first date a few days later in Princeton, New Jersey, and have been inseparable ever since.
How They Asked
Josh brought me back to Princeton NJ (where we had our first date) on the Fourth of July which he knew was my favorite holiday. Following a lovely dinner, we walked to a tree that we had carved our initials into on a previous date. As we got closer to our tree, Josh had me close my eyes. When I opened my eyes our tree was completely lit up in beautiful lights and Josh was down on one knee. It was absolutely stunning. I will never forget how I felt in that moment. I obviously said yes, and we celebrated with champagne under the Fourth of July fireworks.
