Danielle and Chris
How We Met
Almost two years ago, Chris and I met at the Burger King Drive-Thru when I was collecting cash. One day Chris pulled up to me in the drive-thru and I noticed a fishing pole in his car. I love to fish and I asked if he was going fishing. That day on August 12th, 2016 is when he asked for my phone number to take me fishing with him (I guess you can say he reeled me in!). Chris called me that day, and we were happy to hear that we were both Christians. Chris wanted to meet a “Godly and Gorgeous Girl,” and he felt like he met the girl for him. A few weeks later on August 27th, 2016 Chris asked me to be his girlfriend while packing up my things to go back to college. We made it through the long distance and grew together as a result. Chris attended my college graduation and was happy that I was staying in our hometown with him. We love to grow together in the Lord, go fishing and do many other things together. The Burger King Drive-Thru was the last place either of us was expecting to find love, however, we believe God brought us together and that with Him all things are possible. God just so happens to be the best matchmaker after all!
how they asked
My birthday is May 30th, and Chris and I planned to celebrate a few days later on the weekend. I wanted to go hiking at Sam’s Point in Cragsmoor, New York, visit the Cragsmoor Stone Church, and go to Olive Garden. We both love to go hiking, and Cragsmoor Stone Church is one of my favorite sites to see. During the hike, Chris and I were taking in all of the beautiful scenery, and we were enjoying talking about our journey as a couple. When we got to the overlook, Chris got close to me and said, “Since day one, I knew you were the one for me, and I have something here to prove that…” Chris then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I said yes, and the people around us started to clap! A kind stranger was able to get a shot of Chris proposing to me, and we were so thankful to have that picture for a memory of the special moment. This was the best birthday gift I could have ever asked for!
Cragsmoor Stone Church is one of my favorite sites and is also the place I have been wanting to get married since I have been a little girl. Chris and I went there after the hike and took some engagement pictures and got to envision our wedding taking place there.
