How We Met
Michael and I met during our first week of Medical School in Kansas City, MO. After our first midterm exam, my best friend Paula invited me for dinner with “some classmates” to celebrate being done. Little did I know that I was going to meet the love of my life that night during dinner.
Our first date, was a couple of weeks after we met and it was probably the best date I have ever had. We went to eat at this cute little French place in KC called “Le Fou Frog”. Talking with him was easy and different and it just felt right.
Our journey was not always easy. We hit a some bumps in the road but we always found our way back to one another. After two years in KC we moved to West Palm Beach to finish our clinical rotations. An just a few days ago we both matched into our top residency program in Miami Beach.

Michael told me we were going to celebrate Valentine’s Day early this year due to work scheduling conflicts. On February 13, 2016 He took me to South Pointe Park in Miami for the “Celebration”. While we were walking on the park a girl grabbed my hand singing Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran. I remember thinking to myself at the beginning “OMG this is one of those Miami Beach pranks” until I saw Michael’s face and I realized he was going to propose. The entire a cappella group then started singing our song which is “You and I” by John Legend. Every singer would handle me a rose after singing a part of the song until the last one handled me to Mike and he got down in one knee and popped the question. It was definitely the most beautiful day of my life. I couldn’t stop crying because I never really expected to have one of those fairy tale proposals.
