How We Met
Daniel and I grew up together on a little island off the coast of Washington state. We first met in the 5th grade when we were on the same rec soccer team, then again in 7th grade when we started at the same middle school. However, our story didn’t officially begin until the 8th grade, when we sat across from each other in science class. He was cute, shy, and a bit of a goof. I was the girl seated at his table in order to keep him and his friends in line. Our relationship began as any middle school romance might, with little words, secret hand holding, and red cheeks. 8th grade turned into high school, and four years later we walked down our first aisle together grasping our diplomas. We moved to Oregon together and started college at George Fox University where we made countless new friends and great memories. Daniel is my best friend. We’ve been through so much of life together, we’ve grown up together, matured together, and always been there for one another.

On September 1, 2017, Daniel and I set out for an impromptu photoshoot with our good photographer friend, Andie. We’ve done countless shoots with her before, so I thought nothing of it, especially since it was planned so last minute.
We set up the shoot, which was picnic themed, and once everything was laid out I turned to Andie and stated that everything was all set up. Daniel turned to me and said, “I think we’re missing one thing.” I swear my heart stopped.
After nearly eight and a half years together, Daniel got down on one knee asked me to marry him in the most romantic and sweet way. He never fails to make me laugh and smile, a point proven when he pulled the ring out of his sock! It was the best moment of my life, and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my days with my best friend.
