How We Met
Jasper and I first met 10 years ago in Drayer Hall at Dickinson College as he helped unpacked my car and bring in boxes to my freshman dorm room. I was a smiling, nervous freshman and he first laid his eyes on me in my purple v neck at our first floor meeting and whispered now “she’s my type” to his roommate. It was history ever since, we became best friends throughout our 4 years of college and decided to start dating on graduation date May 19, 2013.
How They Asked
As we drove up to Queensbury, NY on the night of October 18th Jasper mentioned: “I planned an activity for tomorrow AM it’s a surprise and we have to get up at 6AM”. I gruntingly said “you are making me wake up at 6 AM on MY Saturday to do some boring activity!” We woke up on the 19th to a brisk 31 degrees and Drove to the Floyd Bennet Memorial Airport.
At this point I realized this wasn’t just a “normal activity”. 20 minutes later we were in floating up in the air in a 2 person hot air ballon as the sun was rising over the beautiful peak foliage. As we were floating 2000ft in the air over lake George Jasper told me to turn around and look at the beautiful lake as I turned back he was on one knee and asking me if I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him.
