How We Met
We are high school sweethearts that met during my senior year and attended the prom in 2014. The ocean holds so much meaning to us. In fact, it’s the connecting fabric of our relationship. It’s where we first laid eyes on each other. It’s where he taught me to let go and confront my fears. It’s where we feel at home, as if nothing else in the world exists. So it was only fitting for an epic underwater proposal!
How They Asked
The proposal of a lifetime is an understatement. My fianceé popped the question on 12.22.22 underwater during a freediving photoshoot and the photos are spectacular! The proposal date holds significant meaning to us, symbolizing luck. Ben booked a surprise trip to Aruba – revisiting the location where we took our first vacation together. Our plan was to freedive underwater for the very first time together (keep in mind, one breath!!!). He took me back to where it all started… the ocean (clever). He went on in a heartfelt speech about how life is an adventure and the bad days aren’t so bad with me by his side. He shared how this moment was a testament to the free spirited, adventurous love we share. We went for our final dive and there he was… one knee on the ocean floor asking me to marry him!!! Pretty impressive if you ask me.
