How We Met
We met 5 years ago in college at Texas State University. I went to a house party with one of my best friends as her wing woman, turns out it was his roommates party and the rest is history!
how they asked
Allen and I were on our second European vacation, crossing new countries off of our bucket list! One of our stops this year was Munich Germany, which is only 2 hours from the Neuschwanstein Castle, the real castle that inspired Walt Disney to create his replica in Anaheim. For a Disney baby making the homage to this castle is a huge deal; Neuschwanstein is the most enchanting place I’ve ever been. As the tour through the castle progressed I could sense Allen getting very nervous and anxious but I figured it was because the tour guide told us not to be late for the train back to Munich or we could get left behind. When we made it to the gift shop he kept pushing to leave, ‘the lines are long babe, plus you want to take pictures out front.’ What a sweet man to keep me on schedule for pictures but I couldn’t shake the anxiety he was radiating, still I trusted him and left the items I wanted. We went outside only to find our tour guide was missing, we all freaked a little and rushed to take pictures because our guide gave us a specific time and location to meet at in the event we missed her. My mom snapped a picture of us on the ledge and I proceeded to walk further up because I wanted closer pictures, I wanted to feel like a princess. I turned around to place him next to me for the next photo and he was on one knee with a ring. My eyes filled with tears, I couldn’t see him, my breathe escaped me and all I could think was ‘is this really happening?’ I tried to focus on speaking because I knew I’d have to say something soon! I didn’t even hear what he said. I got a few words, ‘love, forever…marry me?’ Of course I said YES! I was in shock, I asked my mom if she knew, she said he had spoken to her the day before and she had planned to film it on the train ride over! I’ve been on cloud nine ever since, no one in the world could have made me feel more like a princess then the man I’m going to marry. What’s more, I grew up traveling and Disneyland was my family’s yearly spot. My favorite Disney attraction is Sleeping Beauty’s castle of course; it makes me feel like magic truly exists. This summer I witnessed a proposal in front of the castle at Disneyland and mentioned it to him jokingly how romantic it would be. Of all the places in the world; he made reality better than any dream I can think up. I’m over the moon; he’s my world traveling partner, my friend, the love of my life, and the man I’m so blessed to marry.
