How We Met
One of my best friends, who’s in the army, was getting ready to get deployed to the middle east so myself and another friend decided to give him one last “Saturday Night” out with his wife’s blessing. We got dressed up and proceeded to stroll through a couple of lounges in the DC-area. At the 18th street lounge, I was tapped on the shoulder by an attractive girl and invited to dance with her. We danced and at the end of the song, she walked away. No name. No “nice to meet ya”. No “thanks for the dance”. Nothing. A few hours later on, the same girl started dancing with me again. And at the end of this next song, the same result. Nothing. I started to think, “this MUST be the new wave that DC girls are on”. At the end of the night, I saw her walking out with her girlfriends and decided now was my last chance. I went up to her and we started talking and eventually I asked for her number. We ultimately ended up sharing a cab ride home and have been riding together ever since.

Cristy had been in the US NAVY for almost a full year before we were able to go on vacation together. So as we were deciding where to go, she reminded me that she had always wanted to go to Asia. After looking at a bunch of pictures online, we decided to go to The Philippines and Bali. In Bali, I found a resort that allows a couple to reserve an isolated table LITERALLY in the middle of the ocean. It was the perfect combination of privacy and romance I was looking for. She thought we were there just for our 2 year anniversary, but as we started to walk out towards the end of the pier, she soon realized it was SO MUCH MORE!!
