How We Met

It all started as a conversation about Disney movies on an online dating app. We met each other’s families, got very close, and said I love you…all the things people in love do. After 2 years of dating, becoming Disney annual pass holders, and many discussions about getting married…we decided to start planning.

How They Asked

I discussed ring styles, wedding themes, and went ring window shopping with his sisters. Everything was on track. Unfortunately, we hit a few bumps when our income was cut in half as my fiancé got laid off. We were still determined to save up and persevere! We know how much we loved and trusted each other. We combined our bank accounts to save up as much as possible. Eventually, with some pixie dust from my mother, she gave my fiancé a 100yr old family heirloom ring that survived the Great Depression.

On a random weekend night after watching some of our favorite tv shows and snuggling, he popped the question. He asked me to be a part of his life forever and that he couldn’t imagine his life without me. He told me the story of the ring and said he knew our love would survive just like the ring, through good and bad. I knew I couldn’t imagine life without him and I said yes!

We celebrated by going to Disneyland and enjoyed hearing the congratulations from people as they passed by. It really was like a dream. It all started from a conversation about Disney with a little faith, trust, and pixie dust. I now have a wonderful ring that will be a part of my family for a long time, a beautiful wedding to plan, and the best fiancé in the world.
