How We Met
I was working in marketing for an event venue and had extra tickets for an event. I gave the tickets to a friend of mine who happened to invite Sam. All of us went out afterward and a few days later he asked me out. We had a great night out in Nashville’s Printers Alley and have pretty much been inseparable since!
How They Asked
Sam and I had been planning a trip to the UK for months. From the states, he had done so much planning for the proposal and I had no idea! We flew into London and after a couple of days there we rented a car and drove to Cambridge, Nottingham, and Liverpool before making our way to the coast of Wales on day 5. When we arrived we had gotten upgraded to a gorgeous room at the manor we were staying at. That should’ve tipped me off, but it didn’t. I thought we just got lucky! Sam had reserved a Jeep tour for us from Pembrokeshire Safari Tours after we were settled in. When the Jeep arrived our guide drove us all around Pembrokeshire and told us all about the history. Our final stop of the tour was Freshwater West Beach at sunset. It was windy and cloudy that day, but Sam was a trooper! We walked down to the beach and he apparently had the ring in his pocket the whole tour.
He says he had a whole speech planned but didn’t get through it all before he got down on one knee. Our guide was waiting back up at the Jeep with champagne to celebrate. When we got back to the room there was more champagne and a dozen roses waiting in our room and Sam had a reservation that he has made weeks before at a restaurant in the quaint town of Tenby. It was the absolute perfect day and I’m in love with my ring. Sam designed it all by himself. We drove to Bath the next day for a full day at the spa and rounded out the trip with one more night back in London.
