Trent and I have known each other for years. Growing up, he was actually my childhood crush! We grew up in the same hometown of Lebanon, Ohio and I always thought he was amazing. He is 4 years older than me, so growing up we never dated but I always had a special place in my heart for my childhood crush. Fast forward to 2014, I was 21 and Trent was 25. Trent was back home from college, teaching and coaching high school football in our hometown. I still lived here in Lebanon and was finishing up college. We were both single and had seen each other around a few times, but nothing serious ever crossed my mind until one evening my family and I went to a Cincinnati Bengals game. We have season tickets and are devout fans (Who Dey!!), so you would think that over the last 20 years, I would have seen all the people that there is to see in our section, but this night was different. a man sat in the row in front of my family, and he had on a jersey that said “Burns” which is Trent’s last name. Of course, I instantly thought of Trent. I took a picture of the jersey and sent it to Trent, and the rest is history. I’ve never seen that man again, and so many people that we know have said that it was fate. Right before Trent and I started dating, his mom passed away. I never got to meet her and sometimes I think that was her way of guiding me to her son. If it was divine intervention, fate or just luck, I am forever grateful to get to spend the rest of my life with the man of my dreams!!
