How We Met
Alex and I first met at the church across from the university we were both attending, NMSU. The church put on a potluck after service where Alex approached me and asked if I was going to the college student luau the church was putting on for us. At first I was hesitant as I can be pretty shy at these kinds of events but I had seen him around church and thought he was so handsome that I’d give it a shot. After meeting up at the luau and talking the whole evening, we made plans to see each other again. From then on, we knew we were destined to be together and the love blossomed.
Surprise Graduation Gift

The night before I graduated from NMSU, Alex insisted that we go out for a celebratory dinner with just the two of us . I was very confused because we were going to go celebrate with our friends and family the next day so I kept insisting that we should just wait until the next day to celebrate with everyone . Anyone that knows Alex, knows that he loves surprises and so he kept insisting on taking me out for a surprise dinner . Eventually I caved and he told me to get all dressed up . He took me out to a beautiful restaurant called the Double Eagle where we ate some of the best food I have ever tasted . The entire time I thought we were still celebrating my upcoming graduation . We got back home and I went about my business, putting leftovers in the refrigerator and letting out dogs inside when he asked me if I heard something . I told him I hadn’t heard anything so then he pulled me up the stairs and when I got to the top there was a path of rose petals leading to our spare bedroom . Once I got inside the room, there was a huge heart of rose petals on the floor, lilies, candles, and pictures of us throughout our relationship around the entire room . He got down on one knee and told me that two years ago, he prayed that God would send him the woman that he was going to spend the rest of his life with and then I came into his life, if I would do him the honor of being his wife . Of course I said yes!!
