How we met: Jeff and I met using the professional dating match service called “Its Just Lunch!” Of course neither one of us had high expectations, having tried most of the dating sites out there this was kind of a shot in the dark. Having an open mind, however, we met on August 9, 2014 at a restaurant in Troy, Michigan. Jeff was 5 minutes late and I wasn’t holding my breath. Once he showed up though our coffee date turned into dinner and then drinks afterwards. The rest is history. Above is a photo from our first long weekend together around labor day weekend, where we both fell in love forever.
how they asked: Jeff and I traveled to Miami, Florida for Valentine’s Day weekend to attend a friends wedding. On Monday morning, we were planning on traveling to Key West, FL to enjoy the sun and relax a little. That morning, our rental car company said it would over a 2 hour wait to get a car we had already reserved weeks prior. Jeff was so frustrated we ended up using a different rental car company and he drove that day to Key West so quickly I nearly had a heart attack several times. I didn’t understand what the rush was all about! Once we arrived at the hotel I was told I had only 10 MINUTES to get ready because he just HAD to see the sunset at the beach! I rushed, we left, and arrived at the beach just in time. It was only the two of us and one other person who was seemingly taking pictures of the sunset for pleasure.
Jeff and I began walking down the beach and he revealed he actually fell in love with me before our first trip together, and that he felt as though we were family from day one. At this point I was getting suspicious and he got down on one knee and asked if I would be his wife! Turns out Jeff had hired that photographer to capture the entire moment. He also spent a couple hours with us the following day taking engagement photos around town in Key West….one of my favorite vacation spots of all time.
