How We Met
I was a sophomore in my all girls high school when I found myself desperate for a date to the next dance. So I did what any logical high schooler do, I looked at the roster of the football team of the all boys high school and picked number 77 since he was taller than me. I had no idea that one homecoming dance would lead to 8 years of friendship and dating and amazing memories.
how they asked
Every year my family goes on a big vacation and this year we were in Austria over Christmas time. Unfortunately, my boyfriend Philip wasn’t able to come since he didn’t have enough vacation days (or so he said). I was making the most of the trip and having a blast exploring Salzburg with my family. The last time I was in Salzburg I was 5 years old and obsessed with this bridge overlooking the castle on the hill. So I didn’t think anything of it when my mom suggested we go back to the same bridge that I was obsessed with when I was 5 and take pictures now that I was 25.
It was December 28th and we had just had breakfast and my brother had his big camera so we could re-enact all the pictures I took when I was little. I was on the bridge taking pictures with my mom when Philip walked up behind me and took my hands. I was so surprised and baffled as to how he was even here! It started as a date to a dance and now we were getting engaged on the same bridge that I was on two decades ago. It really was amazing and I’m so happy my family was there to share the moment with me.
