How We Met
August 13, 2009 was the day I first met Alex. It was the second day of my junior year of high school and I was running late to my first block. As I walked in, I scanned the room looking for someone I knew and locked eyes with him. I immediately got butterflies in my stomach. We sat next to each other and found out we both played soccer. So over the next year we became close friends but I always wanted more… On Christmas Day 2010, he told me he wanted the same and the rest is history :)

The day Alex asked me to be his girlfriend was the first White Christmas that Chattanooga, Tennessee had seen in the last 40 years, so snow days have always been very special to us. We took a trip out to Colorado in December 2015 to celebrate our upcoming 5th anniversary and on the fourth night we were there it snowed over a foot! Snow is SO rare in the South, so the next day Alex took me to Washington Park in Denver. It was absolutely beautiful!!! We were heading towards this huge pavilion by a pond and the whole walk he kept telling me how much I meant to him and how beautiful I looked. At first, I didn’t think anything of it and just thought he was being his normal, sweet self. But by the time I realized what was happening, he was already down on one knee. Needless to say, it was the easiest question I’ve ever had to answer!
