Chrisy and Noland
How we met
We met July 2014. Chrisy and a girlfriend had attended a rodeo and gone to a local bar afterwards. I was out with a few of my friends at the same bar to catch the after party of the same rodeo. Chrisy and her friend sat down at a table next to us and ordered drinks. One of my friends had had a wee bit too much to drink and attempted to hit on Chrisy and her friend using very bad pickup lines, which got him quickly shut down. My other friend and I quickly apologized for our rude friend and introduced ourselves. My buddy explained that his name is Jose but now just goes by Ze because when he got divorced he dropped the ho. Chrisy and her friend laughed and decided to stay and talk with us. During this exchange I noted that the size of my beer was substantially less glorious than Chrisy’s, I was impressed that she had ordered such a large beer.
Not too long after, it was decided we all were going to another place. Chrisy and her friend wanted to go to one bar and my friends another. Me being the wiser man, I chose to go with the ladies and we hung out the rest of the night. When the evening was finally over and it was time to say our goodbyes, I asked Chrisy if I was going to get her phone number. To which she replied, “If you put your man panties on and ask, sure!!” Needless to say, I got her number and we attended the rodeo the following day on our first date. The rest has been a journey and has lead us to this exciting new adventure!!
how they asked
Noland and I went up to look at a potential wedding venue that his family owns called Bailey’s Palomar Resort. We talked to his uncle about the wedding package and then went on a tour of the facilities. I had noticed another person on the property, but was told it was normal because there are campsites on the property. As I was walking back to the main house Noland stopped me and got down on one knee. I was shocked!!
We both got caught up in the excitement of the moment and do not remember most of the words he used to ask, but the important factor is, I said yes! The mystery man? Turned out to be our amazing photographer, Paul Dauda. Noland has surprised me with someone to capture our special moment, so we didn’t have to recreate it.
