How We Met
I was in on a girls trip with my friends in Las Vegas and we got free tickets to a club where Trey Songz was performing. We managed to get a spot in an exclusive booth right next to the dancefloor and close to the stage with our own security guard. Elvis was also on a boys trip in Las Vegas and ended up at the same club.
We didn’t know each other at this stage. I was dancing on the dancefloor with someone else and somehow ended up talking to Elvis. We ended up exchanging contact information and hung out all night long in one of the hotel lounges. After hours of chatting and laughing together, we had breakfast together and ended up spending the entire next day together again. We went to a pool party together and continued to spend as much time as we could together. Elvis would constantly tell me he’d come to visit me in Sydney.
A few days later, we said our goodbyes as it was time to return home and for Elvis to go back to San Francisco. We kept in contact via text and facetime and were talking every single day. 5 weeks after we met in Las Vegas, Elvis came to Sydney to see me again as he couldn’t stop thinking about the connection we made when we were together. We made it official 11 months later in Cancun, Mexico when Elvis asked me to be his girlfriend.
How They Asked
My sister-in-law told me she’d won High Tea vouchers for one of Sydney’s 5-star hotels and said it would be a girls’ day. Myself, my mum, my sister-in-law and another brother’s girlfriend ended up going together. When we got there, we were greeted by the Guests Services Manager who kindly offered to show us around the hotel after we finished as none of us had been to the hotel before.
Once we finished, the Guest Relations Manager showed us around the hotel. As we came to the event spaces, they opened the last door to show us inside and as I popped my head in, there and I saw Elvis down on one knee.
He said my full name and asked me to marry him. Obviously, I said Yes!
