How We Met
We met at Towson University in the fall of 2007. Joey was visiting a friend from high school and Christina was attending her freshman year. You could say the spark was instant. The next couple of weeks we spent time together in Maryland while Joey was on winter break from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.
How They Asked
We were walking to brunch on a cold March day (3/12/17) in our neighborhood, Cathedral Heights. On our way we cut through the National Cathedral, which is one of our favorite places in DC. Joey got down on one knee on the front lawn and asked me to marry him. His brother was hiding in the background, capturing the moment. Afterwards we went to lunch at our local neighborhood restaurant, The Grilled Oyster, where our parents, siblings and friends met us.
We’re looking forward to continuing our journey, and starting a new chapter as husband and wife. We’re lucky to have incredible family and friends who have supported us through the years. With our family and friends being located all over the country, we’re most excited to have them all in one place. DC is very special to us. It’s the first city we lived in together since we me, making it the perfect place for us to host our wedding. We can’t wait to celebrate and share it with everyone!
