Christina and Nate
How We Met
Nate and Myself had been very unlucky in love. That was until his sister, who was my coworker at the time, decided to be matchmaker and set us up on a blind date. Even with us being nervous and my inability to stop rambling on, the blind date went well and we hit it off and realized we had a lot in common. With our mutual love for Bronco football, we spent our first real date after meeting at a Denver Bronco’s Football game.
With a thirst for adventure and seeing new things, we’ve traveled to New York, Maryland, Washington DC, and Virginia Beach, Virginia where Nate finally was able to swim in the ocean for the first time. With our love for the outdoors, we have spent the last 4 years camping, hunting big game, fishing and at the same time, falling more in love with each other everyday.
how they asked
On February 2, 2017, Nate took me ice fishing on Deweese Reservoir in Westcliffe, Colorado. We spent the day attempting to catch fish, but with no luck. By the end of the day, we were both tired of having no luck and decided to pack up. There was two poles still in two ice holes, and Nate reeled one in. I asked if he wanted me to reel in the other, and he stated “Sure, go ahead.” As I reeled it in, I saw my engagement ring attached to the end. I turned to find him on one knee. He proceeded to say “I love you more than you will ever know, Will you marry me?”
“Yes!!!” He proceeded to place the ring on my finger, and grabbed a bottle of Dom Perignon 1999 out of the cooler. He popped the cork and we celebrated on the ice. Even though we didn’t catch a fish that day, we both caught the catch of a life time. Can’t wait to marry my best friend 9-15-18!
