Christa and Eric
How we met
Neither of us were looking for a relationship at the time. We met working Church of God Youth Camp in July of 2013. I was sitting waiting for service to start while the campers were playing games and I was on my phone. He came and sat down beside me, the first thing he ever said to me “You playin Temple Run”? We hung out the rest of the week, but I wasn’t too sure of him right away, despite that I tried to get him to ride home with me but he said his dad needed to ride with him. I later found out he was terrified and way to nervous to ride with me. We went on our first date (which he was late for) a few days later.
how they asked
On October 21st 2014 we went on a couple photo session in Boone, NC. I had joked with him before that I would love a proposal like that but he said he never would because I said something about it and if we ever did a photo session, I would be expecting it. My only other comment was no holidays or anniversaries. Of course in the back of my mind, it was still something I was hoping for all day. We spent the day exploring Boone and the surrounding area. The photo session began. It went on for a while and I didn’t even think about a ring. It was really cold and windy that day. As it went on, it kept getting colder and more windy so I was just ready to be done. We were in front of the Moses Cone Manor taking a few pictures. Our photographers told us to kiss so we could get a picture. and thats when he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife! I was speechless and I know he was nervous. The Burks captured some amazing pictures of the moment and then left us for a few moments to celebrate ourselves. We continued our now “engagement” session out to have amazing pictures with my gorgeous ring! One year to the date, we are getting our REAL engagement pictures taken with the exact same photographers that were there to capture the moment he proposed and will also be doing my bridal session and our wedding. I guess you can say we fell in love with their work from the get go! We are now both finishing up college ( I will be an elementary teacher and he will be a police officer) and planning a wedding for November 19th of 2016.
