How We Met
Chris was my boyfriend in seventh grade! We ended up going to different high schools and lost touch. When I moved back home to Colorado after college in California I was working at Starbucks and posted a super lame picture of my coffee cup one morning. Chris liked it and his friend Mitchell started stalking my Instagram (thanks, Mitch!) and asked Chris what my story was. He said he didn’t know and Mitch promptly told him, “Well, you had better figure it out!” After some back and forth commenting on Instagram between me and Chris, I worked up the courage to send him my phone number. He came in to see me at work one morning and asked me out on a date!
how they asked
Chris and I had been talking for a while about going back to our old middle school to walk around and reminisce. On 12/23 we went over to my parents house to decorate Christmas cookies with them. When we got there, however, we found a note that said they had forgotten about a Christmas party they had to go to and would be back home in about an hour. So, because my parents live so close to our old middle school, Chris asked me if I wanted to go walk around there for a bit while we waited for them to come home. Little did I know, I had been set up! When we got to the spot on the track where the picture of us had been taken all those years ago, the love of my life got down on one knee and asked me to marry him!
All I could say was, “Yes, a thousand times yes!!” One of his best friends was hiding out behind a shed snapping pictures of the best moment of my life.
