How We Met
It all started 2 years ago when Zac and I met volunteering together at a Church in Los Angeles. He swears when he met me for the first time, he knew he was going to marry me. Over the course of the next 8 months, we saw each other every Sunday as we began developing a genuine friendship. Zac has always been a planner and took his time to get to know me. He was also very intentional in how he wanted to “pursue” me. Months later I found out he had planned three different dates (a concert, Dodgers baseball game and a Rams football game). He convinced me of going to the Rams game where I found out he grew up in a small town in Eastern Washington, the same town my dad grew up. We were both shocked at how small this world can be because his family knew some of my family. Flash forward a few months, I began developing feelings for Zac. After weeks of talking and a romantic first date, Zac asked me to be his girlfriend in December of 2017. Now, a year later, Zac planned the perfect proposal.
how they asked
It took months, many spreadsheets, conference calls, over 13 different ring appointments and the involvement of 50 close friends and family. Unbeknownst to me, Saturday night I thought I was on my way to be an “extra” in a friend’s TV sketch.
I got to the top of the 12-story loft and as I heard a piano playing, I turned the corner, seeing candles, flowers and a man standing down the way. After locking eyes with Zac, I turned back around in shock as it took a minute to register that it was MY guy (Zac later told me he thought I left, whoops!). I instantly burst into tears, overwhelmed and in complete shock. This. Was. It.
As I gathered myself and walked toward Zac, all I remember is thinking over and over that this was the best moment of my life. After Zac proposed, 50 of my closest friends and family rushed out to surprise me! The night ended with champagne and a limousine chauffeuring us around downtown Los Angeles. It was the perfect night; a night I will never forget.
