Chelsea and Taylor
How We Met
Almost 5 years ago right out of high school I started working at a snow cone shop, and I met Taylor on my first day of work. After getting to know each other we realized we went to the same schools growing up and surprisingly had never crossed paths before. The first day we met I remember going home and telling my mom I met someone I really liked at work. After that I checked the work schedule and we weren’t going to work together for a couple weeks, and I decided to message him online. Turns out he was thinking the same thing! For our first date we went to the Griffith Observatory and have been inseparable ever since. We’ve always been adventurous in trying new things throughout our relationship so we were always traveling and hiking, which worked out perfect for the proposal.
how they asked
Yosemite is one of our favorite places to visit, so when Taylor brought up going in April I was excited. I assumed it would be like any typical camping trip but I was in for a surprise! The first day we got there we set up camp and hung out by a river for most of the day but the next day we were planning on doing a day hike up to Nevada Falls. We set out early for the hike and halfway in I was already exhausted! We got to a point where you could see the falls in the distance so Taylor suggested we go get a better view around some trees. I was hesitant to go off the trail and wanted to just keep going with the hike but he said “it was going to be worth it”. Looking back I thought it was strange he said that but I still didn’t think anything of it! When we got there he set up the camera to take a photo of us in front of the waterfall, and instead of coming to get in the picture he grabbed something out of his backpack. He started walking up to me with his hands behind his back and I realized what was happening. He got down on one need and I said yes! The ring is a gorgeous nature inspired design – so perfect!
