How We Met
We met through a mutual friend years ago who is still very much in our lives today! Nick was super interested and asked her to introduce us. One day on the way home from work, we all took the Long Island Rail Road home together. From there Nick took it upon himself to reach out and ask for my number. A few months later we were still casually talking and he asked what I was doing for Memorial Day weekend. It turned out we were going to the same place for the long holiday weekend. He was going with his guy friends and I was going with my girlfriends. We spent the entire weekend together with our groups of friends combined. Since then, we have been inseparable!
How They Asked
Every year we go to Nantucket for a few days as a getaway from reality. We look forward to it every single year. It has become our absolute favorite place to visit because it has so many memories and amazing places we revisit the following year. This year our best friends made the trip with us and I had no idea what was about to happen. On day two of being there, we got dressed up to head into town to go to our favorite place for dinner. Before dinner, our friend Julie mentioned she wanted to take photos on this gorgeous cobblestone road that we have passed multiple times the past 48 hours. I took a photo of them first and then when it was our turn, Nick grabbed the ring from her bag, turned to me and started talking about our first date in New York City that happened over four years ago. He brought us back to that amazing night, told me how much he loved me then, and how much he loves me now. He explained how he knew that night that I was going to be the one he married. After a few more words were exchanged, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. August 3, 2020, will forever be my favorite day!
