Chelsea and Logan
How We Met
I met Logan online in March of 2016, we talked every single day and a month later we had our first date at a sports bar in Lincoln, NE to watch our favorite hockey teams play each other (The Pittsburgh Penguins and the Washington Capitals). It was super awkward at first especially because they didn’t have the channel for the game and we didn’t know what to talk about. We were not hitting it off right away and almost considered going home but we eventually decided to go to another sports bar to find the game. We ended up going to a place called Brewsky’s, they had the game on and I’m not sure exactly what changed from the first bar to this one but we instantly hit it off there. Although our favorite teams are rivals we joked and laughed the entire time. I didn’t want to say goodbye to him that night but I was looking forward to the next time I would see him.
We saw each other again a week later for a rock concert downtown four our second date and I still felt the same way, I knew I wanted to be his girlfriend at that point. We had our first kiss after the concert and we didn’t end up going home until almost 3 in the morning because we were talking and lost track of time. He made me laugh every time we were together and it just felt like we meshed so well together.
He asked me to be his girl on our third date on April 6 less than a month after we met and I was so excited because I had never felt this way about someone before in my life. We fell in love four months later when he told me he loved me for the first time after spending 2 weeks apart and then we moved in together after 5 months of dating. It seemed to be moving so fast but I was so happy and I felt like he was the one so I never really had any doubts about it.
We have been inseparable pretty much ever since then and it has been such a fun adventure. Now four years later we have bought a house together, we have a dog named Jax, we go to hockey games any chance we get, and now we are engaged! He is my favorite person and I can’t imagine life without him.
How They Asked
Before the new year, we had decided to go to Denver for a mini-vacation to see the Pittsburgh Penguins (my favorite team) play the Colorado Avalanche. The night before the game (January 9th) we went ice skating and they had it decorated so beautiful with white Christmas lights. The whole night felt so magical and we were having so much fun together. After ice skating, Logan asked if I wanted to go for a walk, so we did and he ended up getting down on one knee. I was so nervous that when he saw my face he stood up and asked if he should do it, I shouted yes so he asked me to marry him under the decorated trees and I, of course, said yes! I cried so much but I’ve never been surer of something in my life. I’m so excited to marry this handsome man of mine and I truly believe our love of hockey brought us together.
