How We Met
Anthony and I met my freshman year at the University of Rhode Island. I was interviewing for a position on the Student Alumni Association, an organization on campus that helps to foster a sense of pride and tradition. Anthony and his identical twin brother, Christopher, were my interviewers. Safe to say, I got a spot in the organization :) Anthony and I became close friends and began dating shortly thereafter. We made it through six years of pharmacy school together and recently moved to Boston to launch our careers; through it all Anthony has been my confidant, cheerleader and best friend.
how they asked
Anthony, his brother Chris, and I were at the last stop on our California road trip: Napa Valley. We had a day of wine tasting planned, beginning at the Castello Di Amorosa. During the entire trip Anthony was carrying the ring with him and was waiting for the right moment to pop the question. Once he learned that Castello di Amorosa translated to the “Castle of Love”, he knew he’d found the perfect location.
The grounds of the vineyard were absolutely breathtaking. After tasting a flight of wines in the cellar, we decided to take a walk around the castle. I asked Chris to take our picture in front of a stone tower. Mid-photo Anthony got down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. I am so grateful to Anthony’s brother for capturing my reaction. The scene was out of a fairy tale – my own Prince Charming proposing in front of a castle.
