How We Met
Chanel and I met while working together in Las Vegas. We both went to school at UNLV but never met until we worked together at Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas. After sometime went by I worked up the courage to ask her out on a date to Brooklyn Bowl as a group of people were going for a concert. From there on we continued to see each other and found we both loved tennis, traveling, family and food! We were fortunate to travel to many different countries and cities together and moved to two new cities for work (St. Louis and now Syndey, Australia)!! Whether we are traveling to see a new place or meeting with friends or family, it is always an adventure!
how they asked
Doug proposed at Brooklyn Bowl which was our first date in Vegas! We were getting ready to move to Australia in a few days and we were having a farewell party at his moms house that evening. That afternoon as I thought we were headed downtown, he turned off the highway and onto Las Vegas Boulevard where he turned into the parking lot of the Linq. At this time all of the thoughts were going through my head…omg is this really going to happen?!
Walking into Brooklyn Bowl we were greeted by the Manager and brought upstairs to take a “tour”, when all of a sudden the manager gets a phone call and steps away. Confused and not knowing whats going on I turned around and Doug was getting down on one knee and as I looked up i saw on the screen, “Chanel Will you Marry Me?” I burst into tears, and said yes!
Shortly there after we were greeted by our friend and ex college Dennis Silknitter, who helped plan the proposal with Doug. That evening not only was a farewell party, but turned into a surprise engagement party, as my parents and Doug’s sister flew in from out of town to celebrate! It will be an afternoon and evening celebrating that I will never forget!
