How We Met

It all started about a year and a half ago when I was scrolling through Facebook and found this really attractive guy in my “someone you may know the list.” I thought to myself good lord he’s good looking! So I sent him a friend request and not even 24 hours later I have a message waiting from him. We hit it off right from the beginning and started planning my trip to meet him in person for the first time. My Fiance is a Marine and stationed down in Jacksonville, NC so I decided I’d fly down to see him. The weekend finally came and my heart melted when I ran and jumped into his arms, I wanted that moment to never end. We saw each other at least once a month for the next 6 months, trying to spend all of our quality time together before February 11th when he would be deploying for 7 months. We made the most of all of our time together and when the time came we said our bittersweet goodbyes and started a 6-month deployment. During the deployment I left for the Army, I made it 6 weeks in and ended up tearing my meniscus during a training exercise and ended up being medically discharged from the Army and sent home on crutches. My Fiance got home from deployment a week before I was sent home from the Army. I was still on crutches and wasn’t sure when I would get to see him next, so I just hoped it would be soon. He ended up driving 12 1/2 hours to Michigan from NC to see me and surprise me for a weeks visit.

How They Asked

I was so happy to finally be in his arms again after being apart for 7 1/2 months. We wanted to get homecoming pictures taken, so when we did he ended up popping the question and I was just so shocked I don’t remember one thing he said all I remember was saying YES! Now we are preparing for another deployment next October of 2019 and being apart for another 7 months where he won’t return until 3 months before the wedding. I’m already looking forward to our next big homecoming hello. He will forever have my heart no matter the distance!
