This Bride-to-Be Helped Plan Her Own Sweet Rowboat Proposal
Chandini Tadepalli and Amil Shah connected on a dating site in January 2017, met in person seven months later, and have been together ever since. Amil wanted nothing more than to make Chandini’s dream proposal a reality, but wasn’t sure where to start. We connected him with The Black Tux and proposal planners to help him pop the question and make Chandini’s dreams come true.
Amil had Chandini share some inspiration photos with proposal planners The Yes Girls to get the ball rolling. From there, they created a romantic rowboat setting complete with cascading flowers and a personalized sun hat embroidered with “Mrs. Shah,” her soon-to-be last name.
Amil decided to propose in a “comfortable and classy” shawl collar tuxedo jacket and pants from The Black Tux. Ever the gentleman, he wanted Chandini to look her best too, and clued her in to some elements of his plan so that she would be similarly glam in a long black dress.
Amil brought Chandini to The Stone House at Clove Lakes in Staten Island, New York, a picturesque restaurant overlooking a park and a lake with boat rentals. They were led to a rowboat adorned with beautiful flowers.
As they rowed out on the water, Amil asked Chandini to marry him, and presented her with the ring and hat. Once they arrived back on shore, they ended the evening in a gazebo covered in string lights.
