Carson and Brittany's Rocky Mountain Proposal
how we met – Brittany
Carson and I met at a well known hot spot in Colorado Springs, CO. We had both just moved back to Colorado, not knowing each other. I was tending bar to a packed house while he was trying to get my attention. Finally, it was last call and Carson was able to make his way through the crowd to talk to me. We flirted for a few minutes until he pulled the trigger and asked for my number. I was reluctant to give it to him but there was just something different about him. Wanting him to work for it, I jokingly asked for his life resume. He chuckled at me but immediately started to rattle off his accomplishments. “I’m a Captain in the Air Force, I graduated from the AF Academy, I now coach at the AF Academy, and I’m working on my masters degree.” I laughed and told him that I was only messing with him and then I handed him my number and could not be more happy that I did! That night I found my best friend, the love of my life, and the most incredible man I could ever ask for.
how they asked – Carson
After a little over 2 years of Brittany & I together….I began to feel that it was time to take our relationship to not only another level by having her move in, but by asking for her hand in marriage. Maybe it was the rollercoaster of curve balls that life had thrown at us that somehow made us closer and stronger. But I think it was the thought of spending one more day without her as my wife. Either way, I made the smartest decision I’ve ever made and just had to figure how to actually pop the question.
I had to make a couple calls in for back up. Some of our good friends from Georgia agreed to help me surprise her while taking some pictures on a walk in the Rocky Mountains. It also happened to be her birthday weekend so we used that as a cover story for not only their trip from GA but for the walk and photo session. Once they arrived in Colorado, our little plan went into action. We found ourselves walking down a trail at Sapphire Point over looking Dillon Reservoir just outside Breckenridge. I then made some anxiety filled awkward comment to get her to look up the mountain and when she looked back at me…
I was down on one knee. Needless to say, I am now engaged to the love of my life and cannot be wait for Aug 13th.
