How We Met
Steve and I met the modern way – online! He messaged me on Tinder in July 2016 and we had a great connection right away. After chatting for a few days, I agreed to go on a date with him. We went for dinner and didn’t want the night to end. We ended up going bowling and had dessert afterward too. We enjoyed each other’s company so much that we decided to meet again the next day. Without having to have “the talk”, we knew we were exclusively dating each other already. Everything just fell into place and we have been happy together ever since.
how they asked
I am a teacher and since this is a busy time of the year, I am exhausted by Friday. After teaching, I went off to my part-time job until 10:30 pm. Meanwhile, Steve was at home planning the proposal. When I returned home, there were two post-its on the door that read “Welcome love” and “Please follow instructions”.
When I get in, there was a dress ready for me to change into and he prepared all of my make up and such in the downstairs powder room to be used as my change room. I was instructed to join him for dinner when ready. Walking down the hallway towards the kitchen, he lined it with rose petals and candles. Romantic music was playing in the background as well. I was already bursting in tears by then.
We toasted to our love and he served us a three-course meal. When he put our two bowls of ice cream on the table, I began eating it before he came back (It would’ve melted, right?) He decided to grab the ring box and get down on one need immediately after I put a scoop of ice cream in my mouth.
I was so surprised and I didn’t expect him to pop the question at that very moment! There were lots of tears and of course, I said yes. He recorded the whole thing on a camera he placed on the kitchen counter. I loved how romantic and intimate this proposal was in our own home.
