How We Met

Wesley and I first met while working at a restaurant downtown Baltimore. At the time, I was a single mother in my second year of nursing school. Needless to say, life was busy and love was the last thing on my mind. However, as most love stories go, you can never predict when you’ll be swept off your feet. I was still learning the ropes of the restaurant business when I learned Wesley and I shared a passion for children and a few similarities in our musical taste. Shortly after, I decided to give him a chance. We shared a first date at his place watching a game between our rival football teams. We kept a professional work relationship but continued to enjoy dates and getting to know one another. When I finally felt ready for Wesley to meet my son, it was then I knew he was the one. Our story is more then just love, we became a family. Over the last five years we’ve grown our family and love more each day. Our journey to the alter hasn’t been easy but it’s taught us more about each other, our commitment to love, and just how blessed we are for this life.

How They Asked

I took our boys for a weekend at my parents beach house. He planned with my family to surprise me. My brother put shirts on our boys that said will you marry daddy and he popped out from the basement.
